About us – interpreting, translation and guided tours from one team

Since 1989 we have been bridging German and Turkish – at the authorities' counter, at the negotiating table and on the streets of Istanbul.

Behind Mütercim Tercüman is a well-practised team: a sworn German–Turkish interpreter and state-licensed tour guides who have been accompanying guests since 1989 – more than 200,000 so far. We interpret at authorities, banks, notaries and business meetings and guide in 25 languages. With partner offices in Istanbul and Kuşadası, we are on hand wherever our guests and business partners need us.

We work exclusively in private: you have your own interpreter or guide, never a shared group. Our prices are fixed and stated in advance in your quote. For tours, you pay a 30 % deposit when booking and the balance in cash on the day of the tour. There are no shopping stops – carpet, jewellery or leather shops are never part of our programmes. Before every appointment we clarify topic, participants and terminology so that everything runs calmly and smoothly.

What sets us apart is language as a bridge. Business guests combine their meeting in Istanbul with a guided tour, delegations explore the city with a companion who also interprets, and families in which German and Turkish are spoken side by side hear every explanation in their own language. Whether at Hagia Sophia, in Ephesus or in Cappadocia, we convey not just words but history, culture and intent – so that no one in your group is left out.
